Delhi, a city deigned and built by the British in the 1920s. The important places in Old Delhi includes the Red Fort, Jamaal Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Delhi Gate, and Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana, New Delhi includes the Rashtrapati Bhawan, India Gate, Laxminarayan Temple, Humayun’s Tomb, Purana Quila, Tughlaqabad, Qutab Minar, and Bahai Temple.

Evening transfer to railway station to board train for Varanasi at 1825 hrs.

Day 5 DELHI – VARANASI

Morning breakfast at hotel.

Transfer to the airport to board flight for Varanasi with Indian Airlines (IC 406) depart at 1025 and reach at 1145 hrs.

On arrival assistance and transfer to the hotel.

Afternoon city tour of Varanasi and evening Aarti at Ghat. – Varanasi offers a selection of places of worship that welcome all, regardless of caste or religion. After exploring Varanasi’s religious monuments, discover the history of this cultural centre at one of the city’s comprehensive museums. But perhaps the best way to take in the city is to spend some time relaxing at the ghats.

Day 6 VARANASI – KHAJURAHO

Early morning boat ride and returm back to the hotel.

After breakfast transfer to airport to board flight for Khajuraho with jet airways (9W 723) depart at 1220 and reach at 1300 hrs.

Late afternoon proceed for city tour of Khajuraho – Khajuraho, which has lent its name to a complex of exquisite Hindu and Jain temples, is a small town located amidst the forested plains of Bundelkhand in north-central Madhya Pradesh. The beautiful temples that dot Khajuraho are believed to have been built by the mighty Chandela rulers in the 9th and 10th century AD. The engravings on these temples are highly sensual and erotic that depict in graceful forms intimate scenes of the whole range of human emotions and relationships. These sculptures congeal in stone a lyrical paean to love and passion and reflect the Chandela dynasty/’s immense appreciation for art.

Day 7 KHAJURAHO – JHANSI – AGRA

After breakfast drive for Jhansi Railway station to board train for Agra by Taj Express (TRN 2279) leave at 1520 hrs and reach at 1847 hrs.

Day 8 AGRA

Morning breakfast at hotel and leave for Full day tour of Agra.
Today you will be visiting below palaces.
Morning visit One of the seven wonders of the world “TAJ MAHAL” One of the most photographed tourist attractions in the world (TAJ MAHAL IS CLOSED ON FRIDAY).
Agra Fort – Agra Fort is located (270 10′ 47”N & 780 1′ 22” E) on the right bank of the river Yamuna in the city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb (6 Km): The tomb was built by Empress Noor Jahan, in memory of her father, Ghias-ud-Din Beg in 1622-25A.D. This ornate tomb is considered a precursor of the Taj Mahal; this small garden tomb reflects the taste and sophistication of the gifted queen. Jama Masjid: Jama Masjid is a large mosque built in 1648. The architectural specialty of Jama Masjid is its unusual dome and absence of minarets.
Akbar’s Tomb: Akbar’s Tomb is situated at Sikandra-situated 10 kilometers north of Agra on the Agra Delhi highway.

Day 9 AGRA – JAIPUR VIA FATEHPUR SIKRI

Morning breakfast at hotel and than Drive for Jaipur enroute visit “Fatehpur Sikri” with guide – Fatehpur Sikri is one of the finest examples of Mughal architectural splendour at its height.

This magnificent fortifield ghost city was the capital of the Mughal emperor Akbar between 1571 and 1585. The downfall of this once magnificent capital of the Mughals started with the rise of the Jats when Emperor Aurangazeb left this place never to return again. The credit for preserving the ancient monuments situated here goes to Lord Curzon. Since then, these protected monuments and the environs of the city have been well maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. The city is rectangular in shape with nine huge gates –

Delhi Darwaza, Lal Darwaza, Agra Gate, Suraj and Chandra Darwaza, Tehra Gate and Ajmeri Darwaza.

Day 10 JAIPUR

Full day city tour of Jaipur with guide.
Morning visit Amer fort. – The old capital of the Kachhwahas stands atop a range of craggy hills. The fort is remarkable as much for the majestic grandeur of its surroundings as for its sturdy battlements and beautiful palaces. It is a fine blend of Hindu and Muslim

Jaipur is also known as “Pink City – because all houses within old city are to be painted in PINK”. In the morning visit Amber Fort – The Old Capital City of Jaipur located 15 kms outside the present city. Here you can ride a dedocated elephants (on direct payment basis) to go atop the hill to see Royal Palaces. In afternoon during City Tour we will visit famous City Palace – The Royal Museum, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), Jantar Mantar (The Royal Observsatory) and Prince Albert Museum.

Day 11 JAIPUR – COCHIN

Morning breakfast at hotel.

Transfer to the airport to board flight for Cochin with Spice Jet (SG 131) depart at 0600 and reach Cochin at 1040 hrs.

Evening proceed for Kathakali Dance:
A special treat awaits us this evening as we proceed to witness the strength and vigor of Kathakali dance drama, as it enacts episodes from great Indian epics. The extremely stylized gestures, the elaborate make-up, the masks and the splendid costumes of these all-male dancers, recreate an incomparable sense of pageantry.

Day 12 COCHIN

Morning breakfast at hotel. And proceed for city tour.

Visit the ancient Jewish Town, the historic Mattanchery “Dutch Palace” and Fort Cochin, the oldest European settlement in India. Photograph the cantilevered Chinese fishing nets and other indelible marks of early traders.

Upon arrival, board the Houseboat for a unique experience through the narrow canals and channels of the backwaters of Kerala

Ride to the heart of Kerala’s balmy, coconut-fringed backwaters to Alleppey and experience Kerala’s famous backwaters that comprise of vast lakes and a system of narrow canals and waterways linking them to one another. Not so long ago, these waterways served as the backbone of Kerala’s transportation. Alleppey is the ideal place to experience the fascinating lifestyles of the backwaters.

Day 15 PERIYAR

Morning breakfast at hotel and proceed for city tour.
Periyar Wildlife Park in Kerala is one of the most captivating wildlife parks not only in India but in the world. In 1895, the British undertook water resource management plans for the area and started work on a dam and an artificial lake under the auspices of Col. J. Pennycuick. The picturesque lake in the heart of the sanctuary was originally 26 sq km but now spans an area of 55 sq km, which initially led to the submersion of large tracts of forestland, slowly attracted wild animals. It eventually resulted in the adjoining forests being granted protection by the Maharaja of Travancore. Post-1975 Periyar finds itself in the enviable position of being a national park as well as a protected tiger reserve. The terrain ranges from hilly to flat grassland areas at the edges of the lakes. The vegetation is of moist deciduous type.

Day 16 PERIYAR – MADURAI

Morning break fast at hotel and after that drive for Madurai.

Afternoon proceed for city tour.

The biggest landmark of the city is the Meenakshi Temple. This twin temple was built 2,000 years ago, with constant additions made to it by the many rulers that reigned over the region. It is in fact the oldest and the largest temple complex in India, covering an area of 65,000 Sq m. The two shrines here are of Lord Shiva and his spouse Meenakshi. It is surrounded by a Hall of Thousand Pillars surrounded by statues and carvings.

The temple has seven towering gopurams richly covered with figures of gods, mythological characters and animals. The four main gopurams at the four entrances are at an awesome height of 50 metres each.

Day 17 MADURAI – TRICHY – TANJORE

Morning breakfast at hotel and than drive for Tanjore.

Enroute visit Tirchi – Trichy, situated on the banks of the river Kaveri. Trichy is a thriving commercial centre in Tamilnadu as well as an important pilgrim centre.The most famous landmark of Tiruchirappalli is the Rock Fort Temple, a spectacular monument perched on a massive rocky out crop which rises abruptly from the plain to tower over the old city.

Day 18 TANJORE

Proceed for full day city tour.

Thanjavur is home to the famous granite-stone Brihadeeswara Temple built by Raja Raja Chola I, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Its 14-storey Vimana (216 feet) and the exquisite workmanship is a fascinating sight. The Nandi Bull opposite to the sanctum sanctorum weighing 20 tonnes is carved from a single stone.
Other places of interest are the Sarabhoji Maharajas Fort, Rajagopal Arsenal Tower, Sadar Mahal, Bell Tower, Saraswathi Mahal Library with its rare collection of ancient books and manuscripts, and the art gallery. The Sangeetha Mahal has an acoustically perfect musical hall. Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Pookara Street, dating back to pre-1740 A.D., and Sacred Heart Cathedral Church are some ancient churches here.

Day 19 TANJORE – CHIDAMBRAM – PONDICHERRY

Enroute visit Chidambaram – Chidambaram is one of the most ancient and most celebrated of shrines in India.Here visit the famous Nataraja temple with the root of the sanctum – sanctorum covered with golden plates located in the centre of the town covering an area of 40 acres.

Day 20 PONDICHERRY – MAHABALIPURAM

Morning breakfast at hotel and morning sightseeing of Pondicherry visit Straight clean streets walking along the seashore. Spiritual premise of Sri Aurobindo Ashram.

Day 21 MAHABALIPURAM

Morning breakfast at hotel and than proceed for city tour.

Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram, was an ancient port city on the Coromandel coast built by the Pallava Dynasty in the 7th century. It was named after the cruel demon king Mahabali, who was slayed by Goddess Durga, and is an important World Heritage Site today. It is 60kms from Chennai, and can be reached by the scenic East Coast Road.

Mahabalipuram is known for the beautiful historical monuments that were built mostly during the Pallava Dynasty in the form of rock cut caves and temples. Its beautiful and unspoilt beaches stretching for miles, and lined by groves of casuarinas is another great attraction.

Day 22 MAHABALIPURAM – CHENNAI – MUMBAI

Morning breakfast at hotel and than drive for Chennai airport to board flight for Mumbai with Indigo Airlines (6E 278) depart at 1710 and reach at 1855 hrs.

Day 23 MUMBAI
